Steven C. Bonawitz, M.D., F.A.C.S. has been in practice in the Central Maine area since 1994. Dr. Bonawitz completed his residency in Plastic Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center and his General Surgery residency at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh. He completed a fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Bonawitz received his medical degree from the Health Sciences Center at Syracuse, State University of New York, and his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Albany.

Dr. Bonawitz is trained and experienced in the complete spectrum of plastic surgical procedures and is continuously participating in courses, conferences and seminars to remain up to date with the latest advances and newest techniques and technology in Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Bonawitz specializes in Cosmetic and Reconstructive surgery of the breast, Cosmetic Surgery and Microsurgical Reconstruction.

Neysan Bayat, M.D., has joined Steven Bonawitz, M.D., at Central Maine Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Bayat completed a General Surgery residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City and a Plastic Surgery residency at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, Ohio.

Dr. Bayat is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
